As someone passionate about exploring the possibilities of cloud computing, joining the AWS re/Start program has been an incredible step in my journey. The program, offered in collaboration with Generation India and facilitated by training partner Vinsys IT Services , aims to equip individuals with foundational cloud skills and prepare them for a career in the tech industry. Here, I’m sharing my Week 0 experience to give you a glimpse into this amazing learning opportunity.
But first let’s understand why AWS re/Start?
The AWS re/Start program is designed to bridge the gap between aspiring tech professionals and the cloud industry. With no prior IT experience required, it provides a perfect platform to:
Build foundational AWS Cloud knowledge.
Develop employability skills, including resume building and interview preparation.
Gain hands-on experience through scenario-based learning.
One of the most exciting aspects of the AWS re/Start program is the opportunity to receive a free voucher for the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam upon completing the training. This certification will be a significant milestone in my cloud computing journey.
Getting Started: My Enrollment Process
The enrollment process was both exciting and challenging. To secure my spot in the program, I began by registering on the Generation India portal. This was followed by a combined assessment test, which primarily featured aptitude-based questions. With a passing score of 80%, I was thrilled to clear the test with an 82%.
Next, I attended an online personal interview, where I discussed my interest in cloud computing and my aspirations in the tech field. Once my documentation was completed, I was officially onboarded into the program. The entire process was seamless, and the team ensured smooth communication throughout.
Week 0: A Memorable Beginning
The program’s classes are conducted entirely online, making it accessible and convenient. Week 0 was dedicated to building soft skills—a critical aspect often overlooked in technical training. Here are some highlights of my Week 0 experience:
1. Interactive Activities
In one session, we were asked to introduce ourselves, share our hometown, and talk about what makes our place unique. This activity helped me connect with peers and understand the diverse cultures in our cohort.
The second activity involved partnering with a teammate to introduce each other to the group. It was a fun way to bond and build communication skills.
2. Engaging Sessions
The sessions were highly interactive, with every team member actively participating. The trainers created a comfortable environment, encouraging us to express ourselves and collaborate effectively
Final Thoughts
My Week 0 experience was nothing short of amazing. From the structured activities to the engaging sessions, every moment reinforced my excitement about being part of this transformative journey. I’m looking forward to the upcoming weeks as I dive deeper into the world of AWS Cloud and continue to grow alongside an incredible group of peers.
